Wordpress Goldmine

wordpress-goldmine.gifMark Thompson’s WordPress Goldmine is less a book about blogging and more a book about earning money with affiliate programs by using a WordPress blog.

WordPress Goldmine is a unique product in this set of reviews in that underneath he covers, it’s not really a book about blogging. Instead, it’s a book on how you can you use Wordpress blogs to earn a secondary income with affiliate programs. The author’s approach is both hype-free and realistic.

blogging-to-the-bank.jpgBlogging to the Bank is a perennial hot-seller and is now in its third release Blogging to the Bank 3.

Blogging to the Bank is authored by the hyper-successful niche blogger Rob Benwell, and has been a top seller since its first release in 2006. The book outlines a niche strategy for creating blog networks, including both white hat and blackhat methods.

While the strategies outlined are compelling, there likely isn’t enough information to keep a beginning blogger on course. Beginning bloggers would be wise to use Blogging to the Bank in conjunction with another blogging package to get the most out of it.

Blogger’s Paycheck

Blogger’s Paycheck takes an organized, unique look at blogging in that it covers more than just the nuts and bolts of blogging. It also covers other success factors that aspiring bloggers must consider.

bloggers-paycheck.jpgBlogger’s Paycheck is an interesting entrant to the blogging field. Rather than taking the typical “me too” approach and jumping straight into blogging knowledge, the author begins the book by describing the challenges a new blogger will be facing in the early stages of their career.

While there is a lot of typical content in the book, the author’s fresh approach to the subject of blogging makes this short read a very entertaining one. John also reviews practical examples of tasks that he recommends in the book.

Atomic Blogging

Atomic Blogging is one of the older blogging packages available, but Alvin Phang keeps the book updated on a regular basis.

Atomic Blogging is standard how-to-blog guide. Like many of the other products reviewed on this web site, there are ample step-by-step instructions for setting up a new blog, but many of the sections aside from this initial setup are relatively sparse on content, leaving some wide gaps in knowledge. With these wide gaps, many of the promises from the sales page are left unfulfilled.

How To Make Money Blogging

money10.jpgI made this post sticky because it answers the number one question I get asked:

“How do I make money blogging”

Since I make a nice income blogging I have many people come to me wanting me to teach them my system.

Education

What I do instead of charging them a consulting fee (which most people can’t afford) is point them to a product called Blogging To The Bank.

It’s a excellent product written by someone who makes much more money than I do blogging.

Rob the creator shares how he built his blogging income to more than $34,000 a month.

In Blogging To The Bank Rob teaches you:

  • Conduct Market and Keyword Research Quickly and Easily
  • Web 2.0 Traffic Building Techniques
  • Own Your Blogs the Cheap Way So That They Do Not Disappear
  • Lightning Fast Blog Creation In Minutes
  • SEO Techniques that Shoot Your Blog Rankings Right To The Top
  • Surefire Advertising Methods To Pull In Tons Of Targeted Visitors Ready To Buy
  • Get Quality Content Without Knowing How To Write

You can click here to learn more about Rob and Blogging To The Bank.

Blogging Platform

Next they usualy ask me what blogging platform to use and where to host their blog. I always recommend people use Wordpress as their blogging platform. No other blogging script or service has as much support or free plugins.

Hosting

As far as hosting I’ve used many hosts and can recommend several. The higgest recommendation probably goes to Hostgator because they are cheap, have good support and allow you to host multiple sites. Another great feature is that they have a one click Wordpress install (which is great for people who are not technical and don’t know how to install Wordpress).

Promotion Tools

So after you learn Rob’s system, have gotten set up with hosting, and have created yourself a blog or two, then I recommend you invest in the following 2 tools to help you automate the promotion of your blog(s).

The first is called Bookmarking Demom and it is a truly amazing piece of software that gets you get unlimited, one-way, high PR links on autopilot. Instead of going over the features here, simply visit the site and watch the videos of the software in action.

The second is called Blog Comment Demon which is another great piece of software that helps you get get hundreds of inbound themed links so you can start increasing your adsense income, affiliate commissions and product sales.

Both products are made by the same company. The software this company creates is very robust and their support is great as well.

And that’s it… that’s all the stuff I recommend someone new to the industry purchase. The rest of the stuff like plugins and other resources are available for free online.
